  1. Recognize the Stage of Change: Understand that not everyone is ready for feedback. Ensure you identify whether their “light” is green (ready for feedback) or red (not ready).

Example: If an employee is speaking positively about wanting to learn a new skill, their light may be green. If they seem hesitant, their light might be red.
